| Paul Steingard, D.O., Physician Emeritus When it comes to family practice and sports medicine in the state of Arizona, few are better known or respected than Dr. Paul Steingard. After attending Penn State as a proud Nittany Lion, Dr. Steingard attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and began practicing in the Valley in 1962. In 1968, he became the first physician for the Phoenix Suns and has served with them for over 23 years. Currently, he is the Team Physician Emeritus. Throughout his entire career Dr. Steingard advocated for making sports medicine available to anyone and everyone. He is a founder of the Team of Physicians for Students (TOPS) program that provides free physicals every year to student athletes. Dr. Steingard has received many awards throughout his career, and in 2007 was recognized with the prestigious Hon Kachina Award for his continued medical excellence and charitable activism. Dr. Steingard retired from Steingard Medical Group in December 2011 and continues to remain President of TOPS. |
| Scott Steingard, D.O. Dr. Scott Steingard is one of Arizona's leading Family Practice and Sports Medicine doctors. As a U of A alum, Dr. Steingard went on to attend the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa and has been practicing in Arizona since 1988. Dr. Steingard has worked with Valley sports across as the state, including with the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Roadrunners as a team physician and an OMT consultant. He works as the Medical Liaison for the Insight and Fiesta Bowls. He is active in political and charitable efforts. In 1999 he was appointed by the governor to the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners and was recognized as Volunteer of the Year from the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association. Dr. Steingard is the current president of the Osteopathic Board of Medical Examiners and a founding member of TOPS. |
| Milissa Cooper, D.O. Dr. Cooper is a Board Certified family medicine physician who has been in Arizona since 1995. She graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1992. She did her family medicine residency in Philadelphia where she was Chief Resident. Since moving to Arizona she has been involved in a number of committees for the improvement of patient care through local hospitals and insurance companies. Dr. Cooper is on the Board of AZOFP and AOMA. She is currently involved in medical research with an emphasis on Diabetes. |
| Richard Carnicky, D.O. After graduating from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Richard Carnicky served as a staff physician for three years in Grove City, Penn. In 1961, he relocated to Phoenix and worked as a Board Certified family practitioner in a private practice. During this time, he served several times as the Chief of Staff at Community Hospital. Dr. Carnicky, joined Steingard Medical Group in 1998. He is an intricate part of the TOPS program and works with both high schools and community colleges. Dr. Carnicky is a member of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association (AOMA) as well as a delegate to the AOMA Board. |
| Jason Turner, M.D. For the past eight years, Dr. Turner has been a part of the Steingard Medical Group. After graduating from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and serves at the Scottsdale Healthcare Family Practice Residency Program. During his residency, Dr. Turner received three awards for Outstanding Resident. Dr. Turner is board certified in family medicine. Since joining in Steingard Medical Group he has become an active TOPS volunteer. | Tiffany Tapia, PA-C Ms. Tapia has served as a Board Certified Physician Assistant with Steingard Medical Group since 2004 after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University and Midwestern University, where she received a degree as a Master of Medical Science. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants. Ms. Tapia also serves as a provider of medical care for Phoenix College. She is a regular volunteer with the TOPS program and the coordinator of TOPS for the community colleges. |
